Print Resolution (DPI) Checker

Upload an image and your print size to see if it is sharp enough to print. Runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

What DPI means for printing

DPI (dots per inch) is how many image pixels land in each printed inch. Print suppliers like Printify and Printful want about 300 DPI for crisp results, and treat 150 DPI as the rough floor for direct-to-garment. The same file can be 300 DPI on a pocket print and 80 DPI stretched across a full shirt, so DPI always depends on the print size. If a design comes back low, generate it larger rather than upscaling a small file, which just blurs.

FAQ

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The check runs entirely in your browser using the image's pixel dimensions. Nothing leaves your device.

What DPI do I need for print-on-demand?

Aim for 300 DPI at the actual print size. 150 DPI is the usual minimum for DTG apparel; stickers and mugs are more forgiving.

My DPI is low, what do I do?

Generate or export the design at larger pixel dimensions. Upscaling a small image adds pixels but not real detail.
